Vintage Fabric
Sisters
Joanne and Marie-Clair have launched Lara Grace Collections
and put together several ranges of vintage fabric inspired
by their love of vintage fabrics and French antiques to
give new ideas and inspiration for the home.
An Anglo- French feel is apparent and this is no accident,
as Joanne and Marie-Clair grew up spending summers in the
Cathedral town of Chartres where they were influenced by
their French Grandmother’s fondness for mixing together
vintage fabrics in checks, stripes and florals “pourquoi
pas”. There was no shortage of beautiful bed linen
to sleep on which were ornately monogrammed. These vintage
fabrics led the sisters to muse that perhaps they were related
to French aristocracy. Unfortunately this was not the case;
their Great Grandfather was the owner of the local laundry
and these sumptuous fabrics had failed to be collected (possibly
during the 1st world war).
As these vintage fabrics have been used over the years
inevitably some deterioration has taken place. Therefore,
when putting the Lara Grace Collections together Marie-Clair
and Joanne have chosen new designs and new fabrics that
they feel evokes a bygone age with a modern twist.
Why not have a look at the Pippin Patchwork Autumn range
made with Vintage Fabric, which with the Antique French
Iron Day Bed reflects the wonderful vintage fabrics that
the sisters remember form their childhood.
